6600 RPM is still good from 3rd to 4th gear, but the higher gears should be shifted at 6400 RPM, which is when the lights start flashing on your dashboard. Although it doesn't lose power as abruptly as the GT-R 2018, you shouldn't over-rev it too much. The BMW likes to be shifted precisely, too. In fact, they turn red at 7000 RPM which should be the absolute latest point for an upshift in this car, because it loses power very quickly past this point. You should really aim for 6900 RPM, which is just before the lights turn red. The newer Nissan is a different story: It has a much more focused power band (like the 488), so precise upshifts are very important to be fast. The older Nissan is one of the more forgiving turbo-cars: You can shift up when the lights turn red, just make sure you don't over-rev it (rev-limiter isn't very far away). Practise precise upshifts in this car to get the most out of it. Also, don't shift too late because the 488's rev limiter kicks in very early. But don't be too early or you'll lose potential since the power band of the Ferrari is very focused. The 488 is one of the less complicated turbo'd cars: just shift up when the red light comes up on your dashboard. Shift up after the dash lights start flashing and only use 6th gear when absolutely necessary. Pretty much the same thing as the Lambo: Wide rev range, very little loss of power at high revs, everything you'd expect from a naturally aspirated engine basically. Shift up after the lights on your dashboard turn blue. The rev limiter kicks in very late after about 8500 RPM, and until then you're not losing much power. So if there's a corner ahead and you don't know if it's worth it to shift up - don't do it. Lamborghini Huracan GT3 - 8000 to 8300 RPMÄ«eing naturally aspirated makes this car very insensitive to upshift timings, so the perfect range is pretty wide and you can get away with hilariously late shifting. So let's take a look at each car individually, starting with the less complicated ones: Turns out turbo-charged cars can be pretty sensitive. Normally you'd think the lights inside the cockpit or the HUD would be sufficient for this, but by analysing my data using the MoTec software, I found out that it's not that simple. This time it's all about when to shift at the right time. Hello again, here's another research-type post by me after some of you liked the one about the raw top speed from a few days ago. But I'll leave the old post here, just for the sake of nostalgia." Of course it is also important to make your upshifts reliant on the gear ratio and the situation (for example you might wanna shortshift or stay in a gear longer for more stability on certain corners). This guide is outdated (obviously)! At this point (Feb 2021) it's best to look at the rev HUD flashing red to find your upshifts, with a couple exceptions (Camaro and old Bentley iirc). IMPORTANT EDIT: "Since some people have been messaging me I want everyone to know:
